Navesi School, Suva.
This
school is located in a very poor part of Suva. The children are mostly
from squatter settlements. The kids study 3 to a double desk, the
buildings are in need of repair, painting and tiling.
We
need either a FAIM team, in which case our Club’s Rotarians could host
members, or contributions to purchase paint and building materials.
Estimated total costs F$30,000.

2.
Multi Purpose Hall at Borutu Village.
This
building is half finished, and needs to be completed. Photographs are
available on request.
The
village, located 4 hours north of Suva, is prone to flooding. Fijians
and Indo Fijians would use the hall for youth training, multi-cultural
social functions, and emergency evacuations at times of cyclone and
flood.
This
project would suit a FAIM team. I have spoken to the Village Project
Manager who said the village would host the FAIM team members.
Contributions of cement, and other building materials, a generator,
light fittings etc. would be appreciated.
Estimated total costs: F$10,000. |

3.

appealing for 3 second hand PC’s with encyclopaedia software and three
second hand printers. Estimated total costs: F$5,000. |

and pipeline is necessary. Estimated material costs: $F25,000.

FAIM Project to Rotuma
Interest is gathering
by the day for the FAIM project to the beautiful Polynesian island
of Rotuma, to carry out much needed repairs to the Rotuma Hospital.
The Rotary Club of
Dural, NSW, will be sending up to 10 members, many with spouses. The
Rotary Club of Suva North hopes to be able to send another 7-10
members and spouses.
The event is now
planned for Wednesday 25th May to the Wednesday 8th June 2005. The
flights to and from Rotuma are only on Wednesdays.
Other assistance is
expected from other Rotumans from around the world.
We need to raise
F$16,000 for the materials.
All and any
contributions will be personally acknowledged by the President, and
will be subjected to the Club's rigorous auditing procedures.
